  • Over 16 years of international higher education and private sector experience as environmental and health economist, researcher, policy analyst, manager, evaluator and consultant.
  • PhD (1994) in Economic and Business History from European University Institute, thesis published with Cambridge University Press, 3 months researcher’s secondment at London School of Economics.
  • Taught over 1.500 university students, supervised 18 Masters and 5 PhD theses.
  • Multi-year contracts as Associate Professor at ULACIT and University of Costa Rica Institute of Economic Research and Institute of Health Sciences (8 years – 3 years full-time supervised 5 Ph.D. Students), Researcher/ Advisor Research Funding Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Maastricht University, The Netherlands (4 years renewable, ongoing), Assistant ProfessorGhent UniversityCenter for Environmental Economics and Management Belgium (3 years), Center Director& Senior Lecturer School for Field Studies Costa Rica/Turks and Caicos Islands (2 years),
